Explanation

consists of only strictly national texts applicable by way of ministerial decrees. Its  role  is to participate in the protection of public health, in particular through the development of recognized common specifications relating to the substances used in the composition of a medicinal product. The specifications are grouped together in the form of monographs which are drawn up in such a way as to meet the needs of the competent authorities (registration, inspection, control) and manufacturers of raw materials or medicinal products, and which may be useful for their preparation and their delivery
